Death road_ the most dangerous road in world. Has anyone came back from death road alive?

Imagine going on a road where a small mistake can cause your death.It seems to be a scene from a thriller movie but it is actually not a scene of movie.There actually exists a road where you are in extreme danger. This road is called death road.

LOCATION OF DEATH ROAD:

Death road is present in south america in country Bolivia. It is the road which connects the capital city of Bolivia to a town Coroico which is present in Yungas region of Amazon rainforest.

This road is 64 kilometers (40 miles) long. It descends from high altitude mountains at around 4,650 meters (about 1526 feet).when drivers travel through this road they face a dramatic change of climate from cold mountain air to warm forest.

WHY IT IS DANGEROUS?

The death road is very dangerous place to go. its danger is not over exaggerated but it is actually dangerous. That's why it is called dangerous road of world.

1.Narrow path:

The width of this death road is very small. It is at some places just 10 feet or 3 meters.This space is only enough for one vehicle to go at one time. But still traffic moves in both directions ,which forces drivers to drive carefully and pass from one another.

2. No Guardrails:

All modern highways have a guard rail or protective grill for protection but death road has no guardrails. On one side there is a wall of rocks and on the other side is nothing but a deep ditch of 2000 feet where you can fall.

3.Weather conditions:

Drastic weather conditions make it difficult for drivers to drive carefully. Heavy rain, fog , and landsliding are major factors which increase the risk.

4.Sharp turns:

There are sharp turns on this road and drivers should be carefull of these curves which are not much visible so a little wrong judgment can be risky.

5. Waterfalls:

At some places along this road waterfalls are present which make the road wet and vehicle can lose control.

HISTORY OF DEATHS ON THIS ROAD:

Before safety measures were introduced for travelling through this road, it took many lives. According to an estimation 200 to 300 people each year lost their lives while travelling through this road. Vehicles often slip from the edge especillay buses and trucks which had passengers and goods in them.The cross signs on the side of road reminds us of those who died while travelling through this dangerous road.

In the start of 2000s the government of bolivia constructed another safer highway so that it could replace the death road and the traffic to death road could be decreased.

As a result:

●Traffic on death road has decreased

● Number of accidents have decreased

●Now this road is only used by tourists and local travelers.
